    general punctuation

I have a question about punctuation.
    1. The theory was rewritten by J. F. Hunt (b.1988,)a physicist at Cyberspace Center.
I edited it into the following:
    2. The theory was rewritten by J. F. Hunt(b. 1988), a physicist at Cyberspace Center.

Could you please tell me what is wrong withsentence 2 from a standpoint of technical writing?
I wonder if there could be some othermistakes in it.

    Thank you.

    Re: general punctuation

There should be a space after "Hunt".

And there should be only one space after 'b.'
I'm guessing that you've copied this from another word processor. This editor often removes spaces between words - I've found that it usually happens with Open Office.

    Re: general punctuation

Thank you very much for your answer and advice.
Actually, no space after “Hunt” is not my intention.
I also noticed that there are some other awkward parts in my post.
Those are what happened exactly as you have pointed out.
I should have been more careful in posting my question.
    I am sorry for confusion.
From now on, I should avoid using another word processor in posting.

By the way, even though I would like to reply to MikeNewYork, my reply always comes on the bottom, in this case under Raymott’s post.
Could you please tell me how I can reply to each commentator?

Many thanks to both MikeNewYork and Raymott.

You can reply to a specific person by quoting a line or two from their post, as I have done. (Try not to quote needlessly)
You can reply to a few different people by going @Mike ..... @Raymott ...... (Or some variant thereof).
You can simply start your post with Esteemed Teacher Raymott, ..... (again, or some variant).
