Hi there,

It may simply happen to us all that in a gathering you begin to get a bit friendly with someone you'd perhaps never met before, but just in no time the person feels TOO friendly, even up to the point of making nasty jokes, giving you heavy pats on the shoulder, etc! It feels like SOME people can just NOT take it, while others manage to get a grip on it, perhaps. What is it then with their character? Can we describe such people using any special words or expressions?

(This may also apply to the situations where this saying comes to mind, 'Give him an inch, and he'll take a mile'! Because, again in such situations it seems these people lack some characteristic others don't.)

The person is overly friendly or too forward.

You could say that they have issues with boundaries.

I think it's neutral.

Yes, some people intrude upon personal boundaries. You could call them 'intrusive' in that respect.
