    Basic questions about verbs

    Hi guys

I can speak and write English it but my knowledge of its structure is very poor. I'm trying to improve so excuse if any of my questions sound a bit simple.

Basically my first question here at UE is about verbs.

Once again this is probably quite easy but what Id like to know is is it possible to have more than one verb in a sentence? If it is possible do the verbs have different names depending on what order they came in in the sentence?

    Thank you

    Re: Basic questions about verbs

    Welcome to the forums.

Consider the first six words of your post: 'I can speak and write English....' You correctly used two different verbs right from the start.

As far as I know, they don't have different names based on their position in the sentence.

    Re: Basic questions about verbs

You can also have complex sentences with multiple clauses, each of which can include its own verb.

    Re: Basic questions about verbs

    Thankyou guys

Now I look at it, it is quite obvious.

Regarding multiple clauses and complex sentences, Ill have to come back to that as I have no idea what a multiple clause is.

    Re: Basic questions about verbs

"Multiple clause(s)" is not a thing; it means "more than one clause".
