    in, into on...

...to use it correctly in discussionsabout hiking etc.
    Going into the mountains
    vs.
    Go to the mountains
    vs.
    Go on the mountains

It frequently happens, that "not-natives" use just a preposition incorrect and the whole meaning is changed.
Could it be, that "going into..." is a phrasal verb e.g. "Going into the mountains can be dangerous" ?

I very much appreciate your answer.

    Re: in, into on...

"Go into" can be a phrasal verb (when it means anything from "discuss" to "study"), but here it's a simple prepositional use. You go to the mountains if you start a long way away, you go into the mountains if you start nearby, you might camp 'in the mountains' or even 'on the mountain [singular!]. And there are other prepositions that would suit other contexts: through, between, beyond.... Sorry - there's no substitute for lots of reading and listening; and expect to make mistakes in speech and writing! That's OK

Some fluent non-native speakers of English (like myself, if I may add) still make some!
Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.
