    Re: Happy weekend

Hello donbelid,I'm sorry if I you! Is it because I wished everybody a happy weekend without asking any questions?
According to tdol: This is a forum- a place where you can ask questions about English and communciate with teachers and learners from all over the world.
I copied and pasted that.I know the forum is called 'Ask a Teacher' but I didn't realise we absolutely had to !

    Re: Happy weekend

I wouldn't use 'happy weekend' as an expression.

    Re: Happy weekend

    Here I am again.
I just happened to come across this blog: http://maudnewton.com/blog/?cat=1 and on checking out who Maud Newton is,I found out that she studied writing at university.http://maudnewton.com/about.htm
Could Happy weekend be an American expression???

    Re: Happy weekend

I've Googled the phrase and it is used, but it doesn't seem to be that common:
    have a good weekend - 1,740,000
    have a happy weekend - 38,500
As a British English speaker, I can't say that I've heard it used in the UK.
