What does 'take your own car' mean?

What does 'take your own car' mean in the sentence below? Get back your own car? Or drive your own car to someplace? Or ride in your own car to someplace? Or anything else?

I thought you meant you wanted to take your own car.

It means "I thought you wanted to drive there in your own car."
