    BBQ Joint

    Hi,

In House of Cards, an American TV drama, I saw a signboard is stated as Freddi's BBQ joint.

Would it sound appropriate to name it as Freddi's BBQ restaurant / store?

I guess a restaurant should be more expensive, better, but joint means cheap, while store usuall refers goods or drugs which are not involved in food.

    Am I correct?

    Thank you!

    Re: BBQ Joint

There are few formal BBQ restaurants, so "Joint" works fine.

    Re: BBQ Joint

"Joint" means "informal" to me. And that is what most BBQ places are like.
