I was writing an email to a teacher and then caught myself with this confusing question.

"Or does that only applies if I were to find length/magnitude, not vector?"
"Or does that only apply if I were to find length/magnitude, not vector?"

Which one is correct? Please reply with an explanation too. Thanks

"Or does that only apply if I were to find length/magnitude, not vector?" is correct.

When asking a question, we use the first-person-singular form of a verb.

Does that apply to all situations?
Will (she)(you)(they) apply to attend university?
(Does she)(Do you)(Do they) have enough money for university?

While I don't disagree with what you have written, in my experience, the form of the main verb after do/does is usually described as the base form or the bare infinitive form of the verb. I think introducing person and number into that could be confusing, especially with third person subjects.

Of course the first-person-singular form is the base form, so they are two names for the same thing.

'go'
I go there often.
Does she go there often?
Do they go there often?
