    recently... happen to

I know that the present perfect should normally be used with 'recently' as in I've got my hair cut recently.

However, it sounds a bit unnatural if I say

Recently, I've happened to come across your contact information on the website.

    Shouldn't I say:

    Recently, I happened to ... ?

    Thanks

    Re: recently... happen to

I find "happened to" and "come across" tautologous. I would just go with "Recently, I came across ..."
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Some grammar books say this, but we do often use the past with recently too. In the negative form, the present perfect is more common, in BrE at least.
