    Are these sentences correct:

    1-He was trying to take the box up the stairs, for which we helped him.
    2-He was trying to take the box up the stairs, in which we helped him.

    Meaning:
    He was trying to take the box up the stairs, for which purpose/in which task we helped him.

    I agree that 1 is worse than 2 but they're both bad.

    He was trying to carry the box up the stairs and we helped him.
    He was trying to carry the box upstairs but it was heavy so we helped him.
    We helped him carry the box up the stairs.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
