Hi There. Here is my question.
Sometimes my students write '' I will call to him'' which should be '' I will call him'' and sometimes they write ''I will talk him'' which should be'' I will talk to him''. I am not able to tell them the difference that why one verb is taking Object and Other a Prep Phrase. Is it difference of Trans and Intrans verbs ???

    Pls help...

    Re: Grammar

Both verbs can be transitive or intransitive, so that is not the difference. It is mostly about how we use these verbs.

We can say "call him" and "call to him", but in different contexts.
We can "talk to someone" and we can "talk business".
