    Question about medicine

There is a sentence in the exercise of proof reading "A doctor examined him and said the best treatment was to take some medicines" The word "medicines" is corrected as "medicine".

I've looked it up in the dictionary and found that "medicine" is both countable and uncountable when in the above meaning. Then why should it be corrected in this way in the above sentence? Thanks for help!

    Re: about medicine

With the construction you have used, I would use "medicine", regardless of how many different ones were involved. If I wanted to be a little more specific, I would use "... the best treatment was to take three different medicines".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: about medicine

I would use "medicines" if the doctor was prescribing more than one type of drug. But "medicine" would also work.
