Hello. What does the verb 'top' mean in this sentence?

Hello. What does the verb 'top' mean in this sentence?

We guarantee that our rates are the lowest in town. In
fact, we can top any competing company’s offer by 5
    percent.

I assume that their rates are 5% lower than other competitors.
    Do I understand correctly?

    Thank you.

Re: Hello. What does the verb 'top' mean in this sentence?

    Yes.

"I can top that" = "I can beat that".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
