    comprehensive grammar reference

I can not find my post, if there is a duplicate, please delete it.

I am trying to gain a better understanding in "articles" (yes, a very common problem)

I found some good websites, but they dont explain the following cases

They elected Lincoln __ President of the United Statues (no "the" before President)
I love "the" radio but she loves TV (no "the" before TV, but "the" before radio)

can someone recommend me a good website, especially on the "articles"

    thanks!

I would recommend "Practical English Usage, 3rd - Michael Swan".

I think there's no particular reason. Simply, radio is accompanied by 'the' but TV is not. For instance, you listen to the radio but watch TV.

Usually, 'the' is not used with words like 'elect'. The structure is "to elect sb (as) president/leader etc".
