    Is present perf cont applicable?

    Hi there!

Let me see if I got this right. The following sentences are correct.

We've always lived in this house alone.
We've been living in this house alone since we were born.

The speaker's choice in using present perfect continuous gives more emphasis to the fact. Is this statement right?

A second doubt: is the position of 'alone' correct in the sentences?

    Cheers,
    Tito

They are correct. They mean that the speaker and whoever else constitutes the "we" have always lived in the house with no other company.

Though since newborns require care of some sort, the second sentence seems impossible.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

The tense has no effect on the emphasis. But "...since we were born" could.
