    The

    I would like to know the difference between the two sentences below:
    1- Partners of CCC Company asked the CEO to resign.
    2- The Partners of CCC Company asked the CEO to resign.
    Adding "The" in the second sentence makes what difference in the meaning?

    For me, #2 is more likely to mean that all the partners asked for the resignation. In #1, it could be as few as 2 partners.

    Or, if not all of the partners unanimously asking, "the partners" still refers to an action taken on behalf of the entire group.
