    Oil might jump on you

How do you warn people of hot cooking oil and ask them to move away from the stove: the oil might jump on you?

    Thank you

You may get splattered by hot oil.
    Oil does not "jump."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Or it might "spit on you".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
