    off-loading him on the cheap

    Hello everybody!

But while his future is unclear, it is understood the club have no intention of off-loading him on the cheap this summer, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid known to have had an interest in the player.

Does "off-loading him on the cheap" mean "getting rid of him/sacking him/transferring him for / at a lower price"?

    Thank you.

Yes. It means that the club know both Barcelona and Madrid are after him, so the club will try to make a good deal (= get a lot of money) if the player is to leave.

I wouldn't use a hyphen there. The club has no intention of offloading him.
