    work vs use

I came across the following definition of the verb 'to work' as to use and control (something).
Can I say that a piece of machinery works components to mean that it uses components?

    Re: work vs use

Could I say something like "This machine works with components from different manufacturers."?

    Re: work vs use

You could, but that doesn't have the meaning you're after- it means that more than one manufacturer makes the components.
