What are the reasons in choosing each, and the differences?
1. The complete structure is laid out on the floor, ready for raising.
2. The complete structure is laid out on the floor, ready to be raised.

There's not much to choose between those two in this case.
Note: "structure is"; 'laid', 'not 'laind'.
