    wash off shame

Last year our team was defeated by Big Bear, so this time in the final, when we see them again, we shall take our revenge! So what is the phrase that I should use? Can I say this?:

-We shall wash off/away our shame last year.

    Re: wash off shame

I would use something like wash away the shame of last year's defeat.
