Please would you help me and correct the mistakes in these sentences. I have tried to use the word "acumen."

1. Peter was a man with acumen that helped him in crises.
2. She was renown for her acumen that would sparkle now and then.

The first has a word missing and the second has a word that requires a suffix.

Now I have tried to correct my mistakes, although I am not sure if I have done it properly. Please would someone tell me if my sentences are correct.

1. Peter was a man with acumen that had helped him in crises.
2. She was renowned for her acumen that would sparkle now and then.

The word 'acumen' is usually preceded by an adjective that makes it specific, like 'business' and 'financial'.

'Acumen' doesn't normally 'sparkle'.
