    would

Firstly, can I use ''would'' instead of ''used to''?

    1. We would go to park every Sunday.
    2. We would go to park.

(Are both of the sentences above give the meaning that I want to say?)

    Secondly, if I say,

    ''I would play football yesterday''

What do you understand from this sentence? I want to tell, I would play football yesterday but I could not because of my leg. But I do not want to give any reason not to play football, like ''because of my leg''...

I just want to say '' I would play football yesterday'' Is this sentence sensible alone ?

    Thanks.

    Re: would

1 and 2 need context to be meaningful.

    1. 'When we were growing up, my sister and I would go to the park every Sunday.'
    2. 'When we felt like playing out, we would go to the park.'

''I would play football yesterday'' is not sensible on its own. I cannot think of a situation in which it would be natural.

    Re: would

''I would go to the park every Sunday''.

Isn't ''Every Sunday'' enough to give the pass effect for this usage?

So, ''I would be very happy to accept your invitation''

What meaning the ''would'' gives to this sentence? Again is it nonsensical or does it give a different meaning here?
