An errant click and suddenly I've "shared with friends"

Help - while trying to simply move my mouse, I accidentally clicked on one of those icons and then got a message saying "Thanks for sharing this link."

    I certainly didn't mean to.
It wasn't a thread that was particularly "share worthy."
I have no idea what site it was shared on or whether it was associated with my name.
I really hate this in general.

Any way to get answers to where I accidentally shared an uninteresting thread? And any way to make it so you have to CONFIRM you want to share instead of random clicks "sharing" on your behalf?

    Thanks!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Re: An errant click and suddenly I've "shared with friends"

If you just clicked the button once then it would not have shared anything, it would have directed you to a third-party site where you could log in and confirm you wanted to share. If you then closed that site without performing any other action then you are fine and nothing got shared at all.

The share buttons are a bit dumb and do not know that you didn't actually share the link. Instead they would have simply assumed you did and presented you with the "thank you" screen.

A share is only possible if you a) click the share button, b) log in to the third-party site, and c) confirm the details of your share.

    Hope that makes sense. :)

I've actually just changed the provider of the share buttons plugin so the thank you screen will no longer appear. The rest of the above should still remain true.
