    Comma

    Hi

I am really struggling getting to grips with commas. Can someone please tell me if the comma below is in the right place or not? I just cannot seem to get my head around commas :(

"I know it can be frustrating to receive numerous communications, but the practice follows a policy of preventive dental care and would recommend regular check-ups to minimise the need for dental treatment in the future."

    Many thanks
    CS

    Re: Comma

Yes, the comma is correct. It separates two independent clauses connected by a coordinating conjunction.

    Re: Comma

    Hi, many thanks.

Should there be a comma here: "Please contact our reception team on [telephone number] to arrange a suitable appointment, or to discuss
    this further."

    Thank you

    Re: Comma

It's optional there. I'd omit it.
