    What is the difference between large margin and wide margin?

    Note: I'm neither a teacher nor a native speaker. Excuse me, I don't want to answer your question. I'm just going to ask the following question about your post to prevent myself from being confused.
    What did you mean by writing "margin"? You meant "the empty space at the side of a page" or "the difference between what sth costs and what we sell it for"?

    There is a standard idiom "by a wide margin" that means "by a lot." His guess was off by a wide margin - His guess was not even close to the right answer.

    If you are referring to a literal margin on a page, "wide" would refer to side-to-side, while "large" could be side-to-side or the margins at the top and bottom of the page as well.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
