Exclamation Your DVD player is now working and ready for collection

    Hello,
What does it mean by saying "ready for collection?"

"Johnson's Repairs here.Your DVD player is now working and ready for collection .You 'll need to pay $45 for the work that has been done.Bye"

Do you think it has the following meaning?
    taking away/bringing together
3 [countable, uncountable] an act of taking something away from a place; an act of bringing things together into one place :
    garbage/trash collection.
The first stage in research is data collection.

Re: Your DVD player is now working and ready for collection

    Hello, nininaz.
Yes, it means "an act of taking something away from a place".

    I interpreted the sentence as:

Your DVD player has been repaired, and you can come (to Johnson's Repairs) to collect it whenever you want.

    (Please see #8 here: http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/collect_1)

    I hope it helps.
