past perfect and present perfetc in the same sentence

Is this combination possible and correct?

Had you had different ideas about this city before you have seen it now?

No, it's not. You could say "Did you use to have different ideas about this city before you had seen it?" amongst other things.

Re: past perfect and present perfetc in the same sentence

I find both the beginning and the end of the original sentence awkward.

"Did you have different ideas about this city before seeing it now?"
"Had your ideas about this city been different before your sight-seeing tour this morning?"
"Were your ideas about this city different before your sight-seeing tour?"
"Have your ideas about the city changed now that you've seen it?"
And as bhai says, many other ways.
