how can I describe this situation?

    Hi everyone

As an elastic collision occurs, a man bounces after hit by a car.

I don't think Bounce is the appropriate word to be used in this situation. Do you think so? what word can I use to replace bounce without changing its meaning?

    Thanks in advance

The sentence doesn't make any sense to me. What is "an elastic collision"?

according to the concept of momentum in physics, an elastic collision can cause a collided target to move in opposite direction. I'm trying to find a word to describe that movement when a man gets hit by a car and bounces backwards.

By the way, thank you for your reply

    not a teacher

"As an elastic collision occurs, a man bounces/rebounds off the car that hits him".
"When an elastic collision occurs, a man bounces/rebounds off the car that hits him".

You could say that the man is/gets thrown when the car hits him.
