Picture description: My buddy on a plane to Europe, and I'm stuck studying at home.

    Picture description:

My buddy on a plane to Europe, and I'm stuck studying at home.

Do I need a comma between EUROPE and AND?

I would use it. Your first part is not a clause, but it is adequate for a caption.
