    Question

    For this exercise :

A : Do you ever go swimming ?
    B : Not these days. I haven't ____ a long time.

The book gives me the answer I haven't been swimming for a long time, but I was wondering if I can use I haven't swum for a long time?

    Thank you !!

    Re: Question

They are both OK. We might also say "I haven't been for a long time". I find it odd that the word "for" wasn't already given in the answer. Usually, these tests ask for only one word (or a single verb form) to be inserted into the space.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Welcome to the forums, Carolst.

Please note that a better title would have been Do you ever go swimming?
