    Question Is this correct?

Hello. I want to know if this is a perfect phrase:

    I already spoke with Andrew.
He told me that his criminal record is clean because he had applied for a license and it was accepted.

If there're suggestions, please let me know.

    Re: Is this correct?

The sentence is fine. Depending on the timing, the first could be as written or "I have already spoken to Andrew".
