Do you think these are contemporary British and American accents?

I told you yesterday in another thread that Zoella is not posh and that the comments under one of her videos show that she is from Bath, Wiltshire.

I have been following 2 famous youtubers for some time: Zoella and Kevjumba. I was wondering if what I say about them is accurate.

In general, both speak very clear English.

Zoella: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEhDxSSb0Kk]

- Posh, typical British, general London, very articulate, non-rhotic

Kevjumba: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UENgfA6N8nA&index=71&list=UUXdYATEcQDVlMdUs7THtzXA]

- Typical American, rhotic

MANY THANKS :)

I've never been to England and can't say what part of England Zoella is from or how posh her accent is. She sounds middle class to me, but that's just a guess.

Like British English, there are many "typical" American accents. Kev's is very standard and hard to place. I looked him up in Wiki. He's a Texan. Yes, his accent is rhotic. Not all American accents are. Especially on the east coast from New Jersey up to Maine, there are a lot of non-rhotic accents.

His accent is contemporary, and I'm sure Zoella's is, too. Why wouldn't they be?

Hope that helps!
