Complying with the pertinent grammar rules, the correct expression to the phrase input on the title bar would be: "I left it at home". Now, is the alternative "slang" expression "I left it home" correct?

The second is correct, I don't consider it slang, though it might be considered informal.

'I left it home' would be considered incorrect in BE.

Yes indeed. I thought that if it was going to be correct, it would be informal.

I Googked the two phrases.

"I left it home" produced 2 million hits.
"I left it at home" produced 1.5 million hits.

Both are common in AmE.
