Hi teachers,

Please find mistakes and correct them.

A XXX tournament was held in XXX. Five local teams XXX, XXX, XXX, XXX and XXX participated in this tournament. They were all excited and geared up to contend with each other. Each team played four matches.

Here is the score summary:

Fist match:
XXX (5) Vs XXX (7)

And so on.

XXX knocked out and could not qualify for the semi-final. Four teams XXX, XXX, XXX and XXX qualified for the semi-final. Semi-final matches were played between XXX Vs XXX and XXX Vs XXX. Each semi-final match consisted of three games.


Here is the score summary:

Fist semi-final match:
XXX (5) Vs XXX (7)

And so on.

Two strong team qualified for the final.

Here is the score summary:

XXX (5) Vs XXX (7)

Congratulations XXX on winning the final match.

Well, I think you need a preposition after 'congratulations'.
What do you think it might be?

It may be simpler to say 'Congratulations on XXX's winning the tournament'.

Not a teacher.

:up:I think you've found a suitable preposition for it.

I'm afraid that I've found two more mistakes:

1. 'XXX knocked out' is not correct. It's not in the right 'voice'.
2. I don't like your 'And so on.' very much - I've never seen it used like that before.

I think I'll leave the rest for native speakers.

I won't write "And so on". I'll use their names and scores in place of it.
