    to the memory of

Can we say "to the memory of ..." when we want to say something about it in the past?
For example: To the memory of my school days when we had fun every single day.

What context do you want to say this in? It's OK if you are proposing a toast, for example, but I can't think of any other situation in which it would be natural.

    Re: to the memory of

    Ok, how about this?
To the memory of my old neighborhood, I would like to show you something that just reminds me of my house and playmates in my childhood.
Because I checked "In memory of ...", and I found out that it is used only for when we want to talk about something after somebody's death. So is "To the memory of ..." correct here?

'In commemoration of' may refer to a past event, see http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/de...mmemoration+of

    Not a teacher.

    Re: to the memory of

"To the memory of..." doesn't work there either, English4everyone.
