    suggest to me???

Hi im new here and just joined for my curiosity about some grammar problems.
    so heres the thing.

Can I say : 1. He suggested to me helping his mother. ( wrong).
    2. ??? He suggested helping his mother to me ( right?)
    3. ??? He suggested to me that I (should) help his mother (right? - so its like : He explained to me that ~~~. you can put "to me" either end of the sentence or following the "explained".

    4. He suggested that I (should) help his mother to me ( right?)

Iam so confused now because some said you cant just use "to me" with "suggest".

    Re: suggest to me???

Number 3 is correct. In AmE, we would normally leave off "should". That would be more common in BrE.
