Does this mean:
a-He pushed the box too hard.
b-He pushed the box too often.
c-He pushed the box too far.

I don't think it could mean (a) but it could have the other two meanings.

I am not a teacher.

I don't know if 'to push the box' is supposed to mean something in particular, but for me, 'He pushed the box too much' conjures up images of a box unable to withstand the pushing (from a structural point of view). That would make a- the closest in meaning.

If I meant 'too far' or 'too often' I would say so.

How about this one:

A-He pushed the cart a lot.

Does A mean:
a-He pushed the cart hard.
b-He pushed the cart often.
c-He pushed the cart far.

I think it could mean 'b' or 'c' but not 'a'.
