    widely applied

Please help me correct the following paragraph. Thanks!

One day in my science class, we learned about the chemicals, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and hydrogen peroxide. The two chemicals are widely applied in our daily lives. For example, bleach keeps the white clothes from yellowing with hydrogen peroxide. For another example, disposable chopstick manufacturers use SO2 to fumigate and kill mold, and hydrogen peroxide to bleach the sticks so they look good in appearance.

    Re: widely applied

I would say "The two chemicals are widely used". I would remove "in appearance" at the end. "... so they look good" suffices. Or, to say the same thing, you could use "... to bleach the sticks to improve their appearance".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
