    BrE for dormitory

What is the most widely used British English word for dormitory (AmE), i.e. a place of residence on the territory of the university for British university students who don't live at home? Is it a hall of residence?
If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

    Re: BrE for dormitory

In AmE we use "dormitory" or "residence hall". I was a resident advisor (RA) in college and the facilities were called residence halls.

    Re: BrE for dormitory

    I am not a teacher.

Yes, it is a hall of residence.

In BrE a dormitory is usually a large room shared by a number of people.
