    customers/visitors

    Hi.

Do you please call those who are not admitted to hospital but visiting relatives, friends, or/and their families customers or visitors?

    Re: customers/visitors

If, during their visit to see relatives, they use any of the commercial enterprises which are available at a hospital (coffee shop, gift shop etc) they would be customers at those outlets but still visitors to the hospital.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: customers/visitors

It's fairly common for people to use clients instead of patients now, but the visitors are not using the medical services.

    Re: customers/visitors

It's not at all common among doctors to use clients, at least where I live. It is done by some psychologists, physiotherapists, and some other health workers.

In my profession, animals are patients and owners are clients.

    Re: customers/visitors

Maybe we have more Newspeak, but in places passengers are becoming customers, and some institutions are turning students into customers or clients.
