    Came into effect

Hi, I am new in this forum and I am not a teacher.

I would like to ask a question:

There are less than 7 months before GST came into effect on 1st April 2015.

Is "came" correct in the above sentence? Or should it be "come"?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

    Re: Came into effect

    Welcome to the forum, Joseph.

It should be '...comes into effect'. The present tense is used for future events.

You don't need to say you're not a teacher unless you are trying to answer a question.

You're welcome, but there is no need to write a new post just to say "Thank you". It makes us think there is new information or a follow-up question and we spend time opening the thread. Simply click on the "Thank" button at the bottom left-hand corner of any post you find helpful.
