Re: meaning of cranked sports mentality

It's presumably said by someone who thinks that being interested in sports is cranky (I don't think cranked is a word [as a participle, that is]; it looks like a combination of 'cranky' and 'skewed'.

Start every sentence with a capital letter.

Where did you encounter this phrase? It's not a common expression.

In the U.S., cranked often means revved up, excited, wound up.

    - By the time she'd finished her third espresso, she was really cranked.
    - The team was cranked and ready to play.

Aha... The nearest BE to that I can think of is 'pumped up' (sometimes just 'pumped').

Thanks to all that answered, it was a comment on a picture of brazilian football player Neymar being taken to hospital by a helicopter, this is what it says:

"Wearing a baseball cap while on a stretcher being flown on a medical transport clearly shows why Brazil lost. Too much ego. Beside poor quality of football and a cranked sports mentality which is the general hallmark of Brazil."

yochan, please take note for next time that the context would have been more helpful in post #1 than #6.

However, I also must confess that even with the context, the expression is meaningless to me. I have no idea what the author meant.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
