    e-device

There seems to be an error in the following sentence.

People use digital electronic devices widely in their daily life, surfing the Internet for useful information, dealing with e-commerce and e-stock, or using e-mail.

    Re: e-device

Should it add 'such as' or 'like' before 'surfing the Internet...'?

    Re: e-device

According to the Macmillan Dictionary, there should be a noun before 'such as'. For example, 'People use digital electronic devices to do many things such as ...'.

    Not a teacher.

    Re: e-device

The sentence would be more correct with a colon or a dash instead of a comma after 'life', as what follows is a list of ways in which people use digital electronic devices.

    Re: e-device

I prefer the colon. There should be no space before the colon.

There is actually no any empty space before the colon in the OP's sentence. It is just a colon in Chinese style which occupies more space. See below.

    A Chinese colon
    An English colon:

    Not a teacher.

    Re: e-device

    I am not a teacher.

That's an interesting piece of information, Matthew.

The way the sentence is displayed on my computer screen, I don't even see a space before the colon.
