    What`s that noise?

    Hi there!

When you fry something, you can hear a sizzling sound. When you play the piano, it`s possible to hear the wooden parts moving. Would that be a clanging sound?

    Cheers,
    Tito

    I am not a teacher.

    Clanging is a metallic sound.

Wooden parts probably make a thumping sound if they're heavy, or a rattling or knocking sound if they're smaller and lighter. There are other possibilities.

A knocking sound... that sounds like what I was looking for. I thought about hitting sound, but that would be too generic, wouldn`t it? The sound of something being hit would vary a lot, depending on the materials involved.

    not a teacher

I agree with Roman55. We used to have an old piano with a few notes that were accompanied by a sound we called "the clunk".
