    That's right.

In future posts, please give your threads better titles.

A better title for this one would have been Some of the painting has/have...

    NOT A TEACHER
Does 'some of the painting' mean 'a part of the painting'?
Please notify me of any mistakes in my posts. It is much appreciated.

    Re: GRAMMAR DOUBTS

When used as a pronoun, 'some' means 'a part of the whole number or amount being considered'── quoted from http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionarie...english/some_2 Definition#2
But what does a painting have to do with number or amount?

    Not a teacher.

    Re: GRAMMAR DOUBTS

I agree with Matthew. Shouldn't the sentence be 'Some of the paintings have ....'?

    Re: GRAMMAR DOUBTS

'Some' can mean 'some part' which is singular, am I right?
