    go + doing something

What difference do you see between:

    1) I am going for a walk. - I am going walking.
    2) I am going for a jog. - I am going jogging.
    3) I am going for a swim. - I am going swimming.

    Re: go + doing something

Can it be the case that "go for a walk" has a more close meaning to one single action of walking which is relatively shorter in time and distance than "go walking"?

One more question: does "Don't go trying to change me." fall out of the above mentioned category? I think it does. How would you rephrase it?

I don't see that difference between the two "walk" phrases.

    Re: go + doing something

I would say "Don't try to change me".
