    If truth be told

What is the difference between the two?
    a.If truth be told

    b.If truth is told

    Re: If truth be told

"If truth be told" is a fixed expression. It's subjunctive.

    Re: If truth be told

In BrE, at least, you'll often hear it without "if".

Truth be told, I was terrified.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
