Hey all,

Been learning English for two years now. I've never had so much trouble as trying to understand phonetic transcription. For my class, I have to translate these sentences from their phonetic form into common English words. Here are the sentences:

So if anyone even has any advice on how to begin tackling this I would really appreciate it. Or if anyone has any ideas in deciphering this please share! Thanks.

I should also add, even if you can only give me the first word it would be greatly appreciated. I'm just having a hard time sounding it out..

That looks like an intimidating transcription to make!
"Sheila ate a large pumpkin pie ..."
That should be a big clue, and really more than I should tell you, given that it's homework. I don't understand why they break the words where they do, except to say that it's an extremely narrow transcription, possibly not of a native speaker.
