    Women&Men vs Female&Male

Could you explain me, please, the difference between words "women"&"men" and "female"&"male" and when words "female" and "male" will be more appropriate?

'Women and men' are used specifically for human adults. The words are nouns.

'Female and male' differentiate the gender of all species. The words can be nouns or adjectives.
